A fat quarter or 30cm strip of light weight cotton (such as quilter's cotton, broadcloth, lawn or similar)
Thread to match 25cm dress zip (NOT invisible zip)
30cm length of fine ribbon (you need to be able to thread this through the zip slider)

An item to adhere the applique onto (suggestions are a plain tote bag, cushion, tea towel, table runner, skirt or childrenswear item)
